Guidance counselors and college counseling professionals are invited to stay with us and tour eight Maine institutions: Bridgton Academy, Maine College of Art, University of Maine at Farmington, St. Joseph’s College of Maine, Southern Maine Community College, University of Maine, University of New England, and University of Southern Maine. We will enjoy tours of the campuses, explore Portland, and have a lobster bake on Peaks Island.
PTAC Tour – “Rules of the Road”
Thank you for your interest in the Pine Tree Admission Consortium’s (PTAC) tour.
After over 25 years of successfully providing this tour, we have found that tour participants appreciate knowing in advance what is expected of them. These “Rules of the Road” represent our expectations of our guests and should be considered as conditions for participation. It is our assumption that you will be fully involved in all aspects of the tour. Early departure from the tour will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.
Participation in the Tour is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. There is a limited amount of space on this tour (26 spots) available. As such, there is a priority deposit deadline of December 1st. A $100 is required to hold a spot in the PTAC Tour. Deposit is only refundable if attendee is unable to participate in the tour with early notification (before March 1) to Tour organizers OR upon completion of the tour.
If you have been selected and are unable to participate in the tour, please notify Tour organizers as early as possible. Historically, there has been a waiting list to attend this tour. No refunds will be issued for withdrawal from the Tour after March 1st.

II. Arrival and Departure
Tour attendees are responsible for their own travel to and from the host hotel. PTAC does not cover the costs of travel.
Check-in at The Regency in Portland on Monday, April 28th no later than 3:00PM.
Departure will occur after the conclusion of the final college visit on Friday, May 2nd by 3:30pm.
Full participation is expected and includes the orientation meeting and dinner on Monday, April 28th; riding the bus to and from all campus visits; participation in each campus visit and the New England Lobster bake on Thursday, May 1st (note: dietary needs can be accommodated).
Members of the Pine Tree Admission Consortium put a great deal of effort into organizing your visit to their campus. We ask that you help us keep to our schedule by being on time for the bus boarding and departures. This is especially important first thing in the morning.
IV. Campus Visits
You will be given each school’s promotional materials and a booklet with fact sheets at check in. The PTAC schools have agreed not to distribute other literature to you during the tour and to limit handouts to agendas, campus maps, and rosters of your students in attendance. Following the Tour, each college is free to send you additional publications.
We will be doing extensive tours of the campuses, please be prepared to travel on these campuses and let us know if you need accommodations so we can plan accordingly.
V. Hotel Accommodations & Meals
We have our attendees stay at the lovely Regency Hotel in downtown Portland. PTAC will cover the cost of a double. You will be housed with another attendee. Roommate requests can be made if there is someone else on the tour that you wish to room with. If you wish to have a single room, you can pay $320 for the week ($80 a night) to reserve a single. That payment can be made to PTAC. Spaces for singles are limited.
All meals, except one, are covered by PTAC. You will have one free evening during the tour to enjoy downtown Portland or explore other places, like Freeport (home to LL Bean). Please inform us of any dietary needs you have so we can plan appropriately.
